Public parking is available throughout campus, and we recommend choosing Stadium Carpark as it’s directly connected to the West doors of the Students Union Building on level 7 via a covered pedway. Education Carpark is also a few minutes walk from the venue. Parking rates vary; see the University of Alberta Parking Services website for more information. Myer Horowitz Theatre

All admission passes are available for purchase in person at the door during the event. Please note: Any “Sold Out” message displayed on our website applies to dance school registrations only and does not pertain to spectator admission.

Loading Dock Information – Horowitz Theatre

The Horowitz Theatre’s loading dock is also the stage itself, functioning as a large platform elevator. For this reason, each studio must schedule load-in and load-out times before or after the competition day.

Important Guidelines:

Tight Space: The dock has a single-lane entry/exit with tight turns—please plan carefully.
Wait Your Turn: Leave enough room for the studio ahead of you to exit before entering.
Bring Helpers: Have enough people to make load-in/out smooth and stay within your time slot.
No parking is allowed at the loading dock.
Studios with trailers must contact U of A Parking Services for arrangements.

Dressing rooms will be assigned by studio. Please follow these DRESSING ROOM RULES: CLEAN UP after yourself, NO food or drink except bottled water, NO photos or videos, and NO parents allowed in the dressing rooms. If you need to help your child with a costume change, please do so quickly and exit promptly. Thank you for your cooperation. Remember, both dancers' and parents' etiquette contribute to your school's eligibility to win the STUDIO SPIRIT AWARD and a PIZZA PARTY.

Award sessions take place at the end of each performance session. A studio representative must be present at all award sessions, as awards cannot be shipped or collected at a later date. This includes the Grand Awards presented at the conclusion of the competition.

Important: If a soloist is registered with more than one dance school, this must be brought to our attention in advance. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from overall awards.

Our schedules are thoughtfully created to minimize time away from school and work.

After registration deadlines, studios receive their entry details to review and request corrections at no charge before schedules are built. Once the schedule is created, changes that affect the running order will be subject to a schedule change fee, so please review carefully.

Date-specific requests submitted in advance will be considered for graduation conflicts only. For other conflicts, studios may request a dance-ahead opportunity after the draft schedule is released. Adjustments are not guaranteed.

Final studio schedules will be shared at least one month prior to the event.

Accurate birthdates are essential—any errors in a dancer’s date of birth may result in their media key not functioning properly.
