We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or relocate any competition due to force majeure circumstances or to increase or decrease the number of days. If the competition runs for less than three full days, two adjudicators may be used.

Parking:
Public parking is available throughout campus, and we recommend choosing Stadium Carpark as it’s directly connected to the West doors of the Students Union Building on level 7 via a covered pedway. Education Carpark is also a few minutes walk from the venue. Parking rates vary; see the University of Alberta Parking Services website for more information.
Dressing Rooms / Rehearsal Space:
Dressing rooms will be assigned by studio. Please follow these DRESSING ROOM RULES: CLEAN UP after yourself, NO food or drink except bottled water, NO photos or videos, and NO parents allowed in the dressing rooms. If you need to help your child with a costume change, please do so quickly and exit promptly. Thank you for your cooperation. Remember, both dancers' and parents' etiquette contribute to your school's eligibility to win the STUDIO SPIRIT AWARD and a PIZZA PARTY.
Loading Dock / Props:
The Horowitz Theatre's loading dock is also the stage itself, functioning as a large platform elevator. Each time it is used, the stage must be cleaned and left to dry. Because of this, all dance schools must book a timeslot slot in advance.
Loading Dock Guidelines
Please keep in mind that space is limited , as the loading dock operates with a single-lane entry and exit with tight turns.
To ensure a smooth process:
>Limited Space: The loading dock has a single-lane entry/exit with tight turns, so careful planning is essential.
>Leave enough space for the studio before you to enter and exit.
>Helpers Required: Please ensure you have enough helpers to keep the process efficient and stress-free and to avoid exceeding your time slot.
Vehicles and trailers cannot remain parked at the loading dock. Studios requiring parking for prop trailers should make arrangements with U of A Parking Services. For regular vehicles and attendees there are two public parking lots within close walking distance.

The entrance to the Theatre is located on the main floor of the Students’ Union Building,
across from the coffee shop The Daily Grind. There are concessions for food and beverages on this floor.

At Summit Dance Challenge, we prioritize a carefully designed schedule.
Studios please post a copy of your registration that we send you so that your teachers, dancers, and parents can check for errors before we create schedules. Corrects to registrations after schedules are created are subject to a change fee.

Awards:
Please ensure a studio representative is present for all award sessions as awards cannot be shipped or picked up at a later date. This includes Grand Awards at the end of competition.
Our schedules are designed to minimize absences from work and school. Before finalizing the schedules, we will email a copy of your school's registration data to verify accuracy. Final studio schedules will be sent to dance schools one month prior to the event. Please note that any errors in a dancer's date of birth in the system will result in their media key not functioning.
